Due to the recent recalls on baby cribs, pending legislation concerning drop side cribs and the associated safety concerns in general, we ask that you check the link below to make sure any crib you are consigning has not been recalled. Here We Go!

Please read this entire page before beginning to tag as there have been a few changes made since the last event.

Consignors must bring a minimum of 15 quality items in order to participate in the sale OR at least 1 large item (ex. stroller, dresser, Power Wheels ride on toy, Little Tykes Playhouse, etc.)

What you will need for tagging:

• Hangers
• White Cardstock Paper to Print Tags
  
  • Available at office supply stores, and in the office supply section of Wal-Mart and Target. (regular printing paper is not strong enough to remain on your items as excited shoppers browse the racks. If a tag falls off and is lost, your item will not be sold!) If you do not have a reliable printer that prints black clearly and dark we can print your tags for you.  Call 901-481-4156 by June 30th to have tags printed.  Just bring your safety pins and plan to be there just a little longer so you can get your items tagged!
    
• Safety Pins (or tagging gun)
  
• Ziploc Bags
• Clear Packing Tape
• Masking tape
• Ribbon (curling type ribbon, or fabric ribbon)

Hanging Items:

• Place clothing on hangers with the hook turned left like a question mark.  

   

• Pants, shorts & skirts should be secured on hangers using safety pins (no straight pins or small gold pins)

• Make sure every item is secure. If not, add more pins.  If an item falls to the floor it won't sell!

• 2 piece outfits:  first, pin the top to the hanger and place the skirt or pants behind it. (Pin both pieces to ensure the outfit stays together)

   

•  Make sure clothing is clean and pressed if necessary. (wrinkled clothes don't sell!)

Tagging Items:

• Place the PRINTED BARCODE TAG on the upper right side of the garment (left shoulder area), attaching the card with a safety pin through the top of the card. (see diagrams below)   The placement of the safety pin IS important!  Do not place a pin anywhere else on the card.  This slows down the check-out process.  Order bar-code tags online HERE

• If you are using a tagging gun it is VERY IMPORTANT to attach the tag ONLY through a seam, either on top of the left shoulder or under the left arm.  Tagging guns can leave holes in most fabrics and we do not want any item to have a hole when the tag is removed!
  

                                      

   

  Pricing Items:

• A general rule for pricing your items is to figure about 30% of what you originally paid.  The condition of the item will raise or lower that figure.   

• Use only whole dollar increments

• Do not price any item below $2.00

Tagging Shoes:

• SHOES MUST BE VERY CLEAN and in GREAT, LIKE NEW SHAPE! (no scuffs and no worn out tennis shoes! all dirty, worn looking shoes will be be rejected)
  

• Shoes must be appropriate to the season. We will not be accepting sandals or swim shoes at the Fall/Winter/Holiday sale.
  

• Tie laces together and place a safety pin through them  to secure tightly. On shoes without laces use ribbon or zip ties to keep them together. Use a safety pin to attach the tag to the shoes.  OR place them in ziploc bags with the tags inside the bag.  (our goal is to keep the shoes together with their tags, if tags are lost, the shoes won't sell)  A great idea is to also put your consignor number and the price on masking tape on the sole of one of the shoes!

    Tagging Toys, Books, Videos, Large Equipment & Furniture:

• TAPE your card ACROSS THE TOP PORTION ONLY (where the safety pin would go) with clear packing tape to the item. Do not use scotch tape, it is not strong enough to last through the sale. This will keep the tag from falling off of the item.  DO NOT put tape ANY WHERE ELSE on the tag and DO NOT put tape over the bar-code!  This is VERY important or your item won't scan!

• Toys and puzzles having loose pieces should be placed in a ziploc bag (and taped across the top so it won't open) and then attached with tape as securely as possible to the larger item.  (We are not responsible for lost or damaged pieces) Children WILL be handling these items!  TAPE, TAPE, TAPE!
  

Tagging Bedding, Blankets, Nap Mats or Similar Items: 

• We suggest rolling/folding these items and securing all of the pieces together with a strong ribbon.  Curling ribbon or fabric ribbon works great.  Then pin your tag to the ribbon.  A great idea is to list the number of pieces in the set in the item description when entering your item to tag.  (Ex.  9 piece Safari Bedding Set.) A BETTER idea is to put bedding in a clear plastic blanket zip back (like they originally came in)
  

What items are accepted to be consigned with Oh Baby!

• Name brand or boutique clothing that is in season and in style (infants thru teens) No small sized WOMEN'S clothing!  Only items purchased in the junior department.
  

• Maternity clothes that are in style, all seasons

• Shoes that are in season

• Sports equipment in good condition

• Little Tykes equipment, playhouses, ride on toys, Power Wheels, bicycles, scooters, skate boards, etc.
  

• Toys for infants thru teens

• Books, puzzles, videos, home school curriculums

• Anything for infants through teens that is in GREAT shape that you would buy for your kids!

• All items that require batteries MUST have working batteries INCLUDED!

Items Oh Baby! will NOT accept:

• Clothing with stains, holes, excessive fading or obvious wash wear, missing buttons or broken zippers. No wrinkled clothing.  The better it looks, the better it sells!
  

• We will be screening all clothing for quality to maintain the integrity of the sale.  This is not a rummage sale and we want to do our best to maintain high standards for our events. Quality over quantity is key and equals more sales for YOU!  Please do not be offended if we ask you to take inappropriate items home with you.  Please do not bring garage sale left over items to our event. 
  

• We will NOT accept clothing from Wal-Mart, K-Mart or other discount stores with the exception of Target (IF the Target clothing is in excellent shape) 

• No out of season or out of date clothing will be accepted.

• Items with missing or non-functioning parts.

Things to Remember!

• Please have your items sorted by size and gender when you bring them to drop off.  It will save you LOT'S of time at check-in!  Even better if you can have them in the order they were listed on your inventory sheet!

• Remember to bring a self addressed stamped envelope with you to drop off. This will enable us to mail your check to you within a couple of days after the sale!  If you do not bring a SASE we will deduct $1.00 from your check for postage and handling.
  

• We reserve the right to refuse any item that does not meet our standards.  Make sure any item you are consigning is an item you would purchase for your child. Quality inspections will be done at drop-off.  We are trying to protect the integrity of the sale!  AGAIN! Quality over quantity is key and equals more sales for YOU!  Please do not be offended if we ask you to take inappropriate items home with you.

• Make sure ALL items are super clean!

• Car Seats more than 5 yrs old will not be accepted for safety reasons. You will be required to fill out and sign a Child Safety Seat checklist from CPSAFETY.COM  You may want to check the following website for current car seat recalls: www.carseat.org/Recalls/179NP.pdf

• All items consigned must meet current requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and may not be included on any list of recalled items, contain any hazardous material or exceed lead standards of 600 parts per million (ppm). • Please remember YOU are the seller of YOUR items!

• You may want to pair 2-3 footy jammies on one hanger and sell as a group.  Individual one piece jammies do not sell as well.
